What food goes best with a california russian river valley chardonnay ?

Published by admin under Chardonnay

And would your answer change if it was a European or an Australian chardonnay ? To a novice wine drinker, I would say everything. Russian River wines are slightly buttery with a fruity finish. European chardonnays…which region? Australian chardonnays are too sweet for my taste. I put them in the category with any dish that [...]

Will be making a beef bourguignon and could not find a burgundy wine. Will a Pinot Noir be ok?

Published by admin under Pinot

I have a nice cut of meat and would hate to ruin it will an inferior wine. I have usually found a burgundy for a reasonable price in the past but all I could find today was a pinot noir. Should I wait and search for a true burgundy or will the pinot noir work? [...]

Opening a bottle that is one of a kind… want to pair it with something great. Thx. fresh asagio(not the dry prepackaged stuff) is wonderful and it will hold up to the wine and not over power it- another good choice is port salute for the same reason but is easier to find whatever choice [...]

Is a 1999 bottle of Brancott vineyards Gisborne Chardonnay to old to drink?

Published by admin under Chardonnay

How old is too old when it comes to Chardonnay? White wines should be used within the first three years. There are very few that will develop past that. WS may have given it a good review in 2000, but I doubt that would be the case today. That’s not to say that this Chardonnay [...]
